I thought of this because from my personal observation. I find that whenever I have an injection, my period is either missing, late or I have spotted in between periods. I asked my doctor he said that very unlikely since the amount of
injection on my is really small. My liver with processed it right away
and it won't stay in my body for long enough to even effect my
system. What do you think? Does anyone have experienced this? Anyone?
Yes it does! When I got my steroid shots, my period came everyday! It was light though. And I had terrible acne due to the steroids. After I stopped getting the injections, my period went back to normal and my acne cleared up
ReplyDeleteYes! I started having acne too. That must be from the steroid. Thank you so much for sharing!
DeleteHi there! I went through your older post and realized that there was one new keloid forming on the top right corner of your scar, is it gone? Also, does Cica care improve or fade the scar size or colour and by how much? Lastly, do you recommend anything else besides cica care, for new scars or old scars. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteStrangely that new scar on the top right went away. To my personal experience the most effective treatments have been steroid injection and pulse dye laser. After a year of monthly injections I noticed dramatic flattening on the scar. But that effect doesn't last. After a while keloid will form again, sometimes the truama from the injection makes the keloid spread. It all depends on location of your keloid and size. Mine is really close to the shoulder where the skin moves and stretch a lot. It's prone to spreading. That's why I use Cica care to minimize the movement of the skin around the keloid. It really makes a big different to me. I can see that the scar stays flatten and stays almost the same size in between the injections.
DeleteThank you for your reply! My keloids are on my chest and 3 very small ones on my upper arm. I developed them several years and i've gotten new ones recently, i have no idea why. None of my keloids are big, the biggest one is less than half an inch and most of them have flattened out surprisingly, but are still red, thats why I doubt injections will do much for me as they're almost at skin level. I just want something to lessen the redness, any suggestions?
DeleteHere are some other experiences I've had, I don't know if we share the same. My keloids remain the same size or almost the same as it started, it hardly grows, when it flattens it spreads out a bit and the colour is red. It took some around 6-7 years to flatten, one has flatten completely on it's own and remains red. Mine doesn't hurt or itch even if you press on them. The weird thing about me is that I've gotten the TB injection, in which half of the people will develop keloids but I did not. I've had a dozen deep cuts plus nasal/back surgeries but none became keloids. The doctor was puzzled too. One of my doctors suggested injections but no lasers because he said they're very small. Another said injections would not work because mine have flatten out to the level that it's not keloids anymore. My new keloids are flatter and more flesh coloured, had them for around 7-8 months, it's weird. Same thing for them, does not hurt or itch although its new. That was my experience with keloids :) Also, my doctor told me that most injections are permanent and would only require 2-3 sessions for me, hmm..I have quite a few keloids though. Anyway, suggestions to lessen redness or preventing new keloids from forming? Does cica care do the trick of preventing new ones from growing? Also, have you tried a product called Hei Ba Gao. I will update you with everything after I've tried them.
DeleteI haven't seen your keloid but from what I have learned, Pulsed dye laser would get rid of any redness really well because it target red color. So anything red in your skin, including blood vessels would be zapped away. The result is immediate. The treatment head is super small so it only target small area one at a time. Is it possible that your doctor has IPL laser instead of Pulsed dye laser? Because IPL treatment head is much bigger and it's hard to treat a small area and it's not ideal for keloid.
DeleteIt is really nice that your keloid doesn't spread. Is it possible that you have hypertrophic scar instead of keloid? Or the keloid changed to hypertrophic scar? Cica Care is still good for preventing scare to form. Have you seen my post about Katie Piper? I'm not sure if the videos are still up. Her whole face got burned and the doctor had her applying pressure mask (a rigid plastic mask with rubber straps) on her face to prevent scaring tissue to form. I think it's the same principal as applying Cica Care. The pressure of the silicone pad would help prevent the skin to form scar tissue.
DeleteI used to get cortisone injections every second month more or less. One keloid as good as disappeared, the others grew back or spread. The last year I have not taken the cortisone injections because of all the side effects I got. Am now looking to try natural treatments as I'm hesitant to go back to the painful injections...
