I just wanna show you my keloid relative to my arm. The most uncomfortable part is the top area. Where it's still growing toward the shoulder. It's painful and itchy especially when the seam of the shirt is rubbing against it.
Melissa, Have you tried laser treatments on the veins? Do you see the middle part of my keloid? I got treated with laser(the same type that would kill spider veins) and it looks so much better. One thing though, the laser can cause keloid to form. You still need that steroid injection to flatten it afterward.
As for indented keloid. It's not a bad thing as long as the keloid is not visible and color is light (no pink in it). Steroid injection can cause the skin to shrink. That means your keloid won't grow back for really long time. But in the other hand if the indented area is around the keloid(something looking like stretch marks) and the keloid is still pink and raised. That means the injection went in too low. Lower than the keloid tissue. Causing the muscle or skin around the area shrink instead of keloid. In both cases, the indented area would improve over time. Don't worry.
Hmm..I'm not sure about the collagen cream. You don't wanna stimulate the keloid too much, as you know it can grow back. I think you should be okay leaving it alone. It would totally grow back. And the skin would eventually even out. My scar was indented at one point too. I actually liked it when it was indented, because all the itchy and painful sensation was gone. Would you mind showing me some picture of your keloid, so I get a better sense of what it looks like. You can email me the photo here keloiddiary@gmail.com
Here the video for the laser treatment similar to the one I got on my keloid. I forgot what's it called. It is a kind of laser that target red color, so anything red on your skin including your veins would be zapped. In the video you will be able to see the vein disappear. It's not a surgery. It doesn't cause open wound or anything. But with laser..it can stimulate collagen growth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgcWZpoU_v8
Your keloid looks great! It takes sometimes for the keloid to even out. It's normal for the steroid to make the skin shrink. Good news is ...it won't grow back for awhile.
